The Mid-Utica Neighborhood Preservation Corporation (MUNPC), historically known as the Leisure Time Activity Center and commonly referred to as Mid-Utica, is a Black-founded organization that has worked to convene, uplift, and end blight in the Greater Utica area since 1979.

Our mission is to serve as a gathering place for purposeful program activities that promote a sense of belonging and connectedness, which is essential to building community and preserving community pride.  
​
At the heart of our efforts currently are the Bessie Hicks Senior Program, providing adult social p programs, physical fitness activities, and Bible Study, helping our seniors remain active and engaged!  The annual Utica Juneteenth Celebration brings our community together by commemorating freedom, culture, and unity.
​
In the Cornell Leisure Time Activity Center, we historically provided community gathering/event space, early childhood education, and youth day care services.  these p programs provided a nurturing environment for families to come together, and we look forward to continuing our work.

Expand our Bessie Hicks Senior Program, adding new activities and outreach efforts to serve more seniors. ​
Enhance our Juneteenth Cele ration, ensuring remains a vibrant and impactful event that reflects our community's rich culture and history.
Support other opportunities to continue engaging our community throughout the development of the coming Mid-Utica Neighborhood Impact Center on West St. and the Cornhill Renaissance Center on James St.
